5:49PM - words of wisdom

NEVER under any circumstance leave your seat whilst at the laundry mat. As of this morning this has become one of my strongly held beliefs. If you think you will need to leave your seat (perhaps to do laundry) invite a close friend or relative to hold your seat, but do not leave your seat under any circumstance. This morning while at laundry world, the facility that caters to my every laundry need. I chose a seat in the corner so that I would not be bothered little did I know that the world has a grudge against me…I don’t really think that. Well so I’m sitting and I had to get up to put my first load of clothes in the dryer. When I came back some guy was sitting in my seat…Mind you there are only four patrons including myself and like 20 other seats but he moved my things and sat in the seat I had previously been occupying. I went up and informed him that I had been sitting there and he replied that he was sitting there now. He was one of those guys who goes to the laundry mat and just to dry his clothes because he washes them some place else. So since my clothes had to be dried and he took my seat I waited until the second that his clothes were finished drying took them out of the dryer and replaced them with mine. Understandably his feathers were a little ruffled, he came yelling about how he had been using those dryers and I said well now I’m using them. I said that I would make it up to him then I placed his laundry back in dryer and put an hour and half worth of quarters in it. (I put it on low because it would just be wrong if I shrunk it.) So he was there for an hour and a half waiting for his clothes…. And that is why you should never get up from your seat at a laundry mat

4:34PM - It's been a while

Hey guys I know it been a LONG time since I last updated but hopefully since summer is here I'll have a little more free time on my hands.
I want to take time to congratulate all the graduates of the class of 2004. our graduation was held at the convocation center in U.M. it was an interseting ceremony. I think (not sure) it was jenny with 13 years perfect attendece who was supposed to be in the empty chair on stage, people starting to clap during ricky's speech. There was a girl who walked in late and refused to put her hat on. and the people who thought they were going to a basketball game and showed up to the cermony with air horns, I'm bitter that my family didn't think to bring one. again it was an interesting cermony.
after graduation cookie and I, and our groupies otherwise known as our family headed to bahama breeze once there we proceded to wait...and wait and wait, until finaly after an hour we were able to be seated, not bahama breeze's fault there were 12 of us. the food was great and we were able to top of the meal with some family feuding for desert. kind of a bummer but cookie and I prevailed and I would venture to say had a very good time.
Last night I went with alex, janoy, Diana, and gadys to the beach to celebrate or commencment. I would like to take a moment to thank gadys and diana for putting thier pride on a line and wearing their caps around south beach, without them we would have never gotten free starbucks and I would have never been the valedictorian. (for an extended version of the story check out diana's lj)we hung out on the beach for a while and saw a rat, a ship, I peed in an expensive resturant, and janoy got a sea oat stuck on his ass. oh I can't forget the body we saw on the beach.... since know one else will undersatnd the true meaning of this paragraph I offically dedicate it to diana gadys janoy and alex.
Again I wish all the graduates the very best in life and advise you to never be afraid of who you are or be afraid to act like who you are.......

12:24PM - The history of the traffic cone

The origin of the modern traffic cone is a mystery that has perplexed researchers for decades. There are few similarities between Conus and any other species living today, leading scientists to believe that it diverged from from the evolutionary tree quite early. Its flat foot, distinctive cone-shaped body, and lack of appendages evolved for reasons not entirely known. Theories abound of divine intervention and alien master plans, but there is little concrete evidence to support such claims.
The most commonly held opinion upon the origins of Conus, and that with the most evidence, was presented by Dr. Edgar Blascon at The National Conference of Conology last April. His research compared the physiology of the modern cone with that of the ancient squid, Polypodis narensis. Narensis and present day cones share many features, including a distinctively tapering body. Dr. Blascon believes these squid began leaving the water in search of safety in the late Cretaceous period. Although the first "land squids" might have seemed helpless beasts, Dr. Blascon asserts that they most probably had strong beaks and might have been inedible, or even poisonous to the touch, as in the case of modern day Conus Esthericus.
Over time, as nature favored larger and larger dinosaurs, it also favored massive cones. Evidence of this "Megalacone" was found by Dr. Mildred T. Orange in the form of a massive cone foot print. If modern foot-to-body ratios hold true, this ancient cone would have stood 120 feet tall. At this height, and cone-shaped, the Megalacone would have resembled a small volcano. The evolutionary process perfected this rather effective masquerade, ridding cones of unecessary appendages and reducing sensory organs.

As the climate changed and dinosaurs disappeared, cones became smaller. Smaller cones were much more mobile than their heavier counterparts, allowing them to travel to warmer, more hospitable climes. To avoid predation, they traveled in packs. It was then that cones began to exhibit the altruistic tendencies they still possess today. It appears that cones would gather near hazards such as tar pits and quicksand to warn others of these dangers. This behavior preserved members of their herd, and allowed the species to prosper. Other creatures learned to take advantage of these warnings too, and avoided cones instead of eating them.
The Automobile Age was a time of profound and rapid change for Conus. Burgeoning road construction attracted cones, and most left the valleys and the fields to live on the new roads. They flocked to construction work sites, potholes, and other road hazards. Unfortunately, these new environs did not favor all cones. Species of grey and black cones that had previously flourished were rendered almost extinct, as automobiles were much less likely to see them upon the asphalt. Nature began to favor only the brightest and most visible of cones, which tended to be red, yellow, and orange.

The most recent evolutionary adaptation is the Reflective Stripe. This feature increases the visibility of cones at night. Whether this evolutionary adaptation will threaten the dominance of the Orange ConeCone is yet to be seen...

1:33PM - worldwide laws

Mark as unread

And we thought some of OUR laws were strange...

Most Middle Eastern countries recognize the following Islamic law: "After
having sexual relations with a lamb, it is a mortal sin to eat its flesh."
(umm OK, I'm sure the lamb appreciates that one)

In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the
animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is
punishable by death. (OK, like THAT makes sense...)

In Bahrain, a male doctor may legally examine a woman's genitals, but is
forbidden from looking directly at them during the examination. He may
only see their reflection in a mirror. (Ouch!)

Muslims are banned from looking at the genitals of a corpse. This also
applies to undertakers; the sex organs of the deceased must be covered
with a brick or a piece of wood at all times. (...a brick?)

The penalty for masturbation in Indonesia is capitation. (Wonder how they
enforce that one?)

There are men in Guam whose full-time job is to travel the countryside and
deflower young virgins, who pay them for the privilege of having sex for
the first time. Reason: under Guam law, it is expressly forbidden for
virgins to marry. (Now let's just think for a minute...is there any job
anywhere else in the world that even comes close to this?)

In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous
husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. (The husband's lover, on
the other hand, may be killed in any manner desired. COOL)

Topless saleswomen are legal in Liverpool, England, but only in tropical
fish stores. (Of course!)

In Cali, Colombia, a woman may only have sex with her husband, and the
first time this happens her mother must be in the room to witness the act.
(I shudder at the thought. How many of us would be virgins today?)

In Santa Cruz, Bolivia it is illegal for a man to have sex with a woman
and her daughter at the same time. (We have to presume this was a big
enough problem that they had to pass this law...)

In Maryland, it is illegal to sell condoms from vending machines with one
exception: prophylactics may be dispensed from a vending machine only "in
places where alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the
premises." (Is this a great country or what?)

6:51PM - hey

well well kiddies...........It's been a while since I've updated but it's been a little busy. Iam reading "The picture of Dorian Gray" by oscar wilde it's pretty good. Iam a little over half way through it. I don't know if it's gonna be one of those books that Iam gonna oh "I love that book", but I wont really be able to tell that until I finish it.
In jenkin's class we are watching this movie about the death of jfk and all the controversy the surrounded it. It's so interesting It gives all these eye-witness testimonies about people who say him die it's a very informative.
Speaking of jenkin's class I have a project to do for econmics. Iam supposed to make a monthly budget, Iam so clueless as to what Iam supposed to be doing though and I've been trying to put it off. well anyway Iam kinda hungry so Iamma go get something to eat buh-bye.

3:38PM - the fiddler on the roof

I had no Idea what to title this entry so I put "the fiddler on the roof" because nicky burned me a copy of outkast yesterday and Iam listening to a song that starts that way. Nicky and I have been listening to outkast for the entire week, Jenny has to because she's been in the car with us for most of the time. so Iam happy now because I've finnaly gotten a new phone, Yea!!!! It's a flip phone from verizon, stupid verizon. I was in the mall with my mom today and some weird guy who was doing survey's had been following us around trying to get us to fill one out. I went into fye and was listening to a demo of a c.d this guy tapped on my shoulder and was like "Hello my name is Steve!" I was like god help me and told him to leave I was busy, he didn't so I told him I was deaf and only understood sign language. He rolled his eyes and went away. I was kinda offened that he rolled his eyes at me, What right does he have to roll his eyes at me? he interupted my c.d. demoing.........I should be the only one with the right to roll their eyes. Iam so sick of waiting to hear back from FIU, I want that stupid letter to arive in the mail so I can apply for housing and scholarships if IAm excepted, or plan to take a year off if Iam not. I should've applied to more then one school but I'd have to write those stupid essays which I don't want to do. well I'll ttyl bye.....

11:26AM - homecoming

hey guys last night was homecoming it started at seven, but I was still at my house at seven-thirty trying to decided what dress to wear well my mom dropped me off at nicky's house so that we could take pictures. When nicky and I were about to leave, we were heading towards the door, her brother danny slapped her ass. she turned around to hit him and messed up her nail polish but I fixed it for her. well when we did finaly leave we had to go pick up gadys from her house we couldn't find it for a while but we eventually got there and got to the dance I don't dance to much at things like this. so a bunch of us decided to go to exploring, It was like the makings of a scary movie. Six high school seniors wander away from the dance to go explore an abandoned race track. omg it was so dark and weird jessica and I were freaking out we would have been the first to die if it were a scary movie. we spent about a half hour doing that and when we got back it was about ten-fifteen we chilled for a little while there and then went to denny's nicky was feeling bad so we ened up leaving there pretty early, we dropped of gadys and then nicky and I went driving around talking about this guy who she likes it was cool. when I got home I took a shower and went to bed. and that was the end of the night.

9:27PM - commercials

I've been watchin the t.v. lately, and everytime I do I see this really corny but super sweet commercial by pepsi. It starts out with this nerdy girl dressed up in a hotdog suit passing out flyers for a fastfood place. well people walk by and make fun of her she gets all depressed and goes to the trash to throw out the flyers. When she's there she looks across the street and there is this guy in a pepsi suit and he smiles at her, she waves at him and they walk off together in the sunset. It's a really really cute idea but it's really dorky. I remember one of my favorite comercial was about this guy who was trying to excercise on a tredmil and it stops, he bends down to see whats wrong with it and the treadmil starts again and he ends up hitting his head. Then the treadmil starts going backwards and he falls on his back and long story short this guy gets beat up by the treadmil, I think it's the funniest commercial. I think it first aired during the superbowl, those are the most interesting commercials. I think besides that treadmil commercial the best ones are the budweiser and budlight commercials. You guys remember the frogs? nike has very inspirational commercials but they are all really boring. well ttyl later Iam gonna go checkout diana's L.J. bye.

8:25PM - Will You Kill My Wife

A guy dials his home phone number from work. A strange woman answers.

The guy says, "Who is this?"

"This is the maid.", answered the woman.

"We don't have a maid!"

"I was just hired this morning by the lady of the house."

"Well, this is her husband. Is she there?"

"Ummm...she's upstairs in the bedroom with someone who I just figured was
her husband."

The guy is fuming. He says to the maid, "Listen, would you like to make
$50,000?"

"What do I have to do?"

"I want you to get my gun from my desk in the den and shoot that witch and
the jerk she's with."

The maid puts down the phone. The guy hears footsteps, followed by a
couple of gunshots.

The maid comes back to the phone. "What should I do with the bodies?"

"Throw them in the swimming pool!"

"What?! There's no pool here?" Long pause.

"Uh.. is this 832-4821?"

10:57AM - chillen

hey Iam back it's been a while since I've written, sorry. so I've gotten used to being back in school, It's really cool this year I only have five classes, my sixth one is senior seminar so I can leave home early. which is really cool I always feel like I can be so productive that extra two hours, I mean I could clean my room, study, get some good yoga in there, read a book, or save the world(j/k), But most the time I just sleep. Sometimes If I the cheerleaders have practice and I have that class I have to stick around school because If I leave I won't nessecarily have a ride back. Lately I haven't had to go to practice, because Iam not going to be in autumn capers and it's practice for just autumn capers people. Iam thinking about sitting in on one of the practices so I can watch them. The routine is really cool. Oh this year sucks at the football games, nobody shows up anymore. I remember last year the stands were packed, but last year we had more home games too. This year are football team is really good too we beat american last night it was a tied game and we won in the last 12 seconds, it was good for two reasons; 1. we won, 2. we didn't go into overtime. so thats life it's really chilling now that theres a pattern again. well I'll write more later. oh and diana I promise to update this more for you.
